RIP Border Patrol Agent Nicolas Ivie:

True Blue Warriors

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Arizona
Border Patrol Agent Nicolas Ivie

End Of Watch: 10-02-12
Agent Nicolas Ivie, 30, was gunned down in an ambush, another Agent shot and wounded, while responding to a ground sensor alarm. (details below). Born with a soul that has courage to wear the badge, Agent Ivie had been Saving, Serving and Protecting the People since January 2008, when he took his oath with the USCBP.

Since there is an ongoing all-out manhunt, it is very difficult (understandably) to speak with our Brother's colleagues at this time. I will update all personal work, family, and life bio later this evening or as soon as feasibly possible.

At 0150hours, three Border Patrol Agents on horseback were dispatched to an area near Naco where ground sensors had been activated. The Agents dismounted and were walking up a hill to investigate the are triggered when they were ambushed in a hail of gunfire. Agent Ivie was shot and killed. A second Agent was seriously wounded with at least two gunshot wounds to his lower body. The third Agent was unharmed. They were able to radio back for help. Helicopters and ground teams from multiple agencies immediately dispatched and a more than 20 mile search is ongoing in the rocky terrain for at least 3 killers.

The Agents were transported to the hospital, where the second Agent underwent surgery. He is stable and may even be released from hospital by end of day. Sadly, this was to be Border Patrol Agent Nicolas Ivie's final battle. This is an ongoing manhunt and investigation and I will update, including names of our other two Warriors, once permitted.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Ivie family, the Men and Women of the U.S. Border Patrol and to all whom have had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing and working along side this True Blue Hero. Special healing thoughts for our wounded Warrior and the (not named) third Warrior who was there. Thoughts are also with all those out there hunting down our Brother's killers.

Our Brother, as you now patrol Heaven, may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on in the battles to come ... In Our Brother's Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifice. We thank you for your life. Job Well Done Sir.

Rest In Peace Agent Nicolas Ivie ... We have the watch from here. SALUTE!

This is an ongoing investigation led by the FBI and the Cochise County SO. We will update as permitted.

*fn: We understand this ambush killing is going to stir up some real raw emotion but we want to be very clear that no weapons have been recovered so any thoughts you may have regarding 'fast & furious' weapons/operation would be purely speculative and unsubstantiated on your part. We encourage all to share your thoughts but please use proper discretion and utmost respect on this life remembrance for our Brother and his family, as they will be reading the comments.* ~Ness~
